Iba’t ibang grupo sa Marinduque, nakiisa sa International Coastal Clean-Up Day

SANTA CRUZ, Marinduque – Nakibahagi sa isinagawang clean-up drive ang iba’t ibang organisasyon sa probinsya ng Marinduque bilang pakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng International Coastal Clean-Up Day kamakailan.

Kabilang sa mga nakiisa ang Marinduque State College (MSC) sa pangunguna ni Dr. Merian Catajay-Mani – college president, Ipil National High School, Ipil Elementary School, Office of the Santa Cruz Vice Mayor, Pamahalaang Barangay ng Ipil sa pangunguna ng Sangguniang Kabataan, Marinduque Council for Environmental Concerns Inc., Calancan Bay Beach Cottage Owners Association at Philippine National Police-Santa Cruz.

Umaga pa lamang ay sinuyod na nang may humigit 700 volunteers ang coastal area ng Barangay Ipil sa bayan ng Santa Cruz, Marinduque.

Bitbit ang kanilang mga kalaykay, stick, sako at iba pang kagamitang pantanggal ng mga basura.

Ayon kay Ibert Oliver Regio-Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman ng Barangay Ipil, “Natutuwa ako sapagkat napakaraming ‘volunteers’ ang nakilahok sa gawaing ito na sumisimbolo ng pagkakaisa, pag-ibig at malasakit ng mga mamamayan sa inang kalikasan at pamayanan, bilang isa ang aming barangay sa mas napinsala ng trahedyang mina mahigit 43 taon na ang nakalilipas.”

Samantala, kasabay ng clean-up drive ay isinagawa rin ang Beema Bamboo Extension Project Planting ng MSC, kung saan ay nagtanim rin ng kawayan ang mga nakilahok. Marinduquenews.com
