GASAN, Marinduque – Rolando O. Tolentino has won his mayoralty race for the municipal town of Gasan in the conducted election on Monday, May 9.
Tolentino was proclaimed mayor by the Municipal Board of Canvassers held at Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall of Gasan on May 10 after he garnered a total of 9,642 votes against his rivals Victoria Lao- Lim, who garnered 7,182 votes and Yudel Sosa with 3,427 votes.
The newly elected mayor ran under the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-LBN), the party of President Rodrigo Duterte since 2016.
Tolentino has been a public servant of Gasan for a long time. He served as local chief executive from 2004 to 2007 and from 2016-2019.
Meanwhile, his running mate, Baltazar Rey, failed to top the vice mayoralty bid against his opponents Lidany Baldo and Dunne Melton Motol.
Baldo garnered a total of 6,926 votes against the 6,603 votes of Rey and the 6,130 votes of Motol.
