Former Marinduque solon charged in fertilizer scam

State prosecutors have formally charged former Marinduque Rep. Edmundo Reyes, Jr., before the Sandiganbayan in connection with the 2004 fertilizer fund scam. Reyes and six Department of Agriculture (DA) regional officials were accused of graft and malversation over the allegedly anomalous release of P5 million to Gabaymasa Development Foundation, Inc. despite its alleged lack of qualifications. Napocor awards Mindoro transmission line projects

The government corporation in charge of providing electricity in off-grid areas has awarded transmission line projects in Mindoro to DM Consunji, Inc. and SL Development Construction Corp. The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) allotted P4.9 billion in calamity loan for its active members and old-age pensioners affected by Typhoon Nina in the provinces of Albay, Batangas, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Marinduque, Quezon and six areas in Oriental Mindoro.
