Buenavista, Marinduque mayor, vice mayor go on travel spree

BUENAVISTA, Marinduque – Mayor Russel Madrigal and his former vice mayor Bert Fabrero, the Sangguniang Bayan and other officials in the Buenavista municipal town in Marinduque incurred excessive travel allowances and registration fees in 2015, earning the ire of state auditors. In a 2016 report, the Commission on Audit (COA) said its post-audit of disbursements showed that the elective and appointive officials incurred traveling allowance/expenses and registration fees amounting to Php 372,318.74 and Php 282,900.00, respectively.
