BOAC, Marinduque — A total of 2,554 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) in Marinduque are set to experience enhanced agricultural productivity following the turnover of P6.4 million worth of farm machinery, equipment, and organic inputs from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).
The ceremonial distribution was held at the Marinduque State University Gymnasium and was led by DAR-Mimaropa Regional Director Atty. Marvin V. Bernal. The event saw the formal handover of 14 multi-tilling machines, three hand tractors, eight water pumps, 20 grass cutters, and 2,350 packs of organic plant supplements to 33 Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organizations (ARBOs) across the province.
“We believe that empowering our ARBs is key to transforming their lives and uplifting their communities. When our rural areas thrive, the entire nation moves forward,” said Bernal during his address.
Among the recipient groups, the Bintakay Farmers Association received the most assistance, serving 218 ARBs. Its chairperson, Gilda Hirondo, expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of their members.
“Receiving the organic fertilizer is a huge help to the Bintakay Farmers Association. We’re about to start planting vegetables now that we’ve just finished harvesting our rice. God bless you, and thank you again,” Hirondo said.
This initiative is part of the national government’s broader efforts under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to boost food security, encourage sustainable agriculture, and uplift the lives of Filipino farmers through targeted support for agrarian reform communities (ARCs). — Marinduquenews.com
