Marinduque Representative Lord Allan Jay Velasco said he is not in favor of the proposed term-sharing as this was not the will of the majority of congressmen.

President Rodrigo Duterte signed Republic Act No. 11334: An Act Converting the Marinduque State College (MSC) in the Municipality of Boac, Province of Marinduque into a State University, to be known as the Marinduque State University (MarSu) and Appropriating Funds Therefor.

Nang magdesisyon po akong makisangkot sa pamamahala ng ating lalawigan, simple po lamang ang aking pangarap para sa ating lalawigan at mga kababayan (though admittedly not easy to achieve). That is to help provide our people with opportunities to have at least the basic things that we need to live a decent and peaceful life in Marinduque.
