BUENAVISTA, Marinduque – Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Marinduque recently held an orientation-seminar on August 15 and 16 to 950 beneficiaries of ‘Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD)’ in the municipalities of Santa Cruz, Buenavista and Torrijos who will work on beautification, street cleaning, de-clogging of canal and maintenance of canals.
Maria Cielo O. Orilla, Labor and Employment Officer of DOLE discussed to the workers the nature and process of TUPAD and Emergency Employment Program including its project details to be implemented. Occupational health and safety standard was also emphasized reminding all the workers to prioritize safety to avoid possible work accidents.
Likewise, TUPAD beneficiaries were provided personal protective equipment to ensure their safety against hazards.
The 10-day short term employment aims to provide cash assistance through engagement in humanitarian operation activities which include greening project, declogging, cleaning of ditches, canals and creeks within their barangay.
