Three congressmen vying for the speakership of the House of Representatives met on Thursday night, July 11.

The Commission on Audit (COA) has flagged the provincial government of Marinduque for failing to utilize the Php 33,314,993.03 budget provided for the provision of health services and supplies, assistance to typhoon victims and road projects.

It is up to the members of the House of Representatives to elect its own leaders, Malacañang said in response to reports that there might be a move to reject President Rodrigo Duterte’s choice for House speakers.

President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday endorsed Taguig-Pateros Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano as the next speaker of the House of Representatives.
