TORRIJOS, Marinduque — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) recently conducted a seminar on social preparation and entrepreneurship training among the students of Torrijos Poblacion School of Arts and Trade (TPSAT).
A total of 25 aspiring student-entrepreneurs of TPSAT undergo the activity, with the purpose of preparing them for a business opportunity as the agency has allotted over P375,000 amount of seed capital fund to the said participants.
The seminar discussed the Micro-Enterprise Development Training (MEDT) under the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) which focuses on micro-enterprise development, skills enhancement, as well as networking and partnership building. It seeks to make micro-businesses both commercially and organizationally feasible.
Meanwhile, Republic Act No. 9262 or Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004, under Gender and Development (GAD) program, was also tackled to ensure that the students are well-reminded of the rights and laws of the concerned subjects.
The activity is under the DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), a community-based program that offers capacity training to raise the socio-economic standing of the beneficiaries. — Marinduquenews.com
