GASAN, Marinduque — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) finished the retrofitting of the Libtangin Bridge in the town of Gasan guaranteeing drivers and public commuters’ a safe and smooth travel along Marinduque Circumferential Road.
The said project emphasizes the necessity of maintaining the bridge’s structural integrity and optimizing its load capacity to give public travelers’ safe and hassle-free to transportation.
In a report of District Engineer Richard Emmanuel P. Ragragio to DPWH-Mimaropa regional director Gerald A. Pacanan, the bridge rehabilitation entails waterproofing the deck slab and fully installing carbon fibers, gabions, solar LED lighting, and aramid fiber.
The Libtangin Bridge project also allows road users to move between residents’ communities and other sites more easily, while also ensuring a safe and comfortable road network and preventing bridge deterioration from large seismic events.
The reconstruction of the project was undertaken by Marinduque District Engineering Office through EC Structural Composites, Inc. as contractor with a total fund of P37.6 million under the Regular Infrastructure-General Appropriations Act of 2023. — Marinduquenews.com
