Marelco targets total power restoration before January ends

BOAC, Marinduque – Power supply has been partially restored in municipalities of Boac, Buenavista, Mogpog, Sta. Cruz and nearby barangays with forty-eight percent (48%) restoration of the total distribution system while 14,071 households in poblacions or 34.05% are already experiencing a stable supply of electricity as of January 11, 2017.

Marelco is trying its best to energize the backbone lines going to Torrijos while the Task Force Kapatid which are provided with complete equipment are designated in municipalities with vast damages and dropped lines caused by typhoon Nina.

Tarlac Electric Cooperative I & II (Tarelco I & II) are fixing the lines in Sta. Cruz Poblacion, barangays Lapu-Lapu, Lusok, Ipil, Kamandugan, Dating Bayan, Landy, Balogo, Hupi, San Antinio and Buangan while Pampanga Electric Cooperative I & II (Pelco I & II) goes to barangays Malabon, Taytay, Masaguisi, Pantayin, Matalaba, Buyabod, Tamayo, Tagum, Alobo, Morales, Angas, Payte and Biga.

Romblon Electric Cooperative (Romelco) and Tablas Island Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Tielco) are servicing barangays Buangan, Malibago, Dampulan, Makawayan, Matuyatuya, Bolo, Pakaskasan, Kay Duke, Suha, Maranlig, Nangka, Bangwayin, Bayakbakin and Payanas in the municipality of Torrijos and barangays Sihi and Timbo in the municipality of Buenavista while Batangas Electric Cooperative I & II (Batelec I & II) are assigned in Ilaya and Riverside of Boac.

The status of power restoration in Marinduque is in progress and improving with the help of Task Force Kapatid composed of electric cooperatives coming from towns of Batangas, Pampanga, Romblon, and Tarlac.

Marelco is very optimistic that total power restoration will be delivered to 41,328 households before January 31, 2017.
