MSC president receives ‘Regional Dangal ng Bayan Award’

BOAC, Marinduque – The Civil Service Commission (CSC) culminated the observance of this year’s 118th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary with its Honor Awards Program (HAP) recognizing outstanding government workers and agencies from Region 4 with its unifying theme “Lingkod Bayani: Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makabayan”.

Dr. Merian P. Catajay-Mani, president of Marinduque State College (MSC), a team builder, environmental champion, gender and development advocate, community organizer and a motivational speaker was awarded as one of the Dangal ng Bayan, an award conferred to an individual for performance of an extraordinary act or public service and consistent demonstration of exemplary ethical behavior as provided under Republic Act No. 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees at Luxent Hotel, Timog Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City on September 12, 2018.

The award given to Dr. Mani was in recognition of her exemplary performance, dedication and accomplishments as an outstanding government employee. Dr. Mani was the only SUC President in the whole Region 4 who got the award along with two awardees of the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award and four awardees of the Pagasa Award.

On a spot interview, Mani told Marinduque News that she got the prestigious award because of the unified efforts of her co-workers in MSC and the Marinduque community who are very supportive to her plans, programs and advocacies.
