The National Food Authority Provincial Office of Marinduque promoted the Palay Procurement Program and Food Guardian Advocacy Campaign by distributing flyers and signing-up as food guardians. This happened during the launching of Farmers and Fisherfolks Month in the municipality of Boac on May 2, 2017. The event was actively participated by Asst. Regional Director and concurrent Officer-in-Charge Gondelina U. Alda and other offices from Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Philippine National Police (PNP), MNO and PAO.

The League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP) has called on the national government for the immediate approval and release of US280 million (around P14 billion) second additional financing from World Bank for the implementation of Department of Agriculture’s Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) led by Secretary William D. Dar.
