DPWH completes multi-purpose building in Brgy. Agot

BOAC, Marinduque — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Marinduque District Engineering Office has completed the construction of a multi-purpose building (MPB) in Barangay Agot, Boac, Marinduque. The project was officially finished on September 15, 2024.

The newly constructed Agot Multi-Purpose Building addresses the community’s need for a safe and versatile facility. The building provides a dedicated venue for sports and recreational activities and serves as a reliable evacuation center during typhoons and other emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of local residents.

Furthermore, the facility is designed to host community events, programs, and gatherings, contributing to the improvement of the quality of life in the area.

Funded through the 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA), the project, which encompasses comprehensive construction works, has a total allocated budget of ₱6,923,948.43. These comprise the installation of columns, footings, tie beams, wall footings, floor beams, roof beams, retaining walls, and slope protection with an open canal.

Additional features include fencing, a canopy, roof framing, roofing, sidings, roof drains, a 259.2-square-meter flooring area, and painting. Plumbing and electrical works, along with necessary permits, were also part of the project scope.
