BOAC, Marinduque — The Department of Education (DepEd) continues to promote the celebration of National Arts Month 2024 with the theme “Ani ng Sining, Bayang Malikhain” which highlights the unique skills of different students in Marinduque.
Several schools participate in this year’s art celebration in honor of the artistic and creative abilities of Filipino students. It involves events held at Marinduque National High School, Makapuyat National High School, and Marinduque Academy, such as art workshops and exhibits, cultural and musical concerts, speech competitions, song and dance performances, Abaniko fan designing competitions, and the wearing of artistic accessories.
Bognuyan National High School also organized an educational tour that included stops at the Marinduque State College (MSC) Science Centrum, Insects Haven Butterfly, Insect Culture Farm, and National Museum while learners from Cawit National Comprehensive High School performed Bayle sa Kayle, showcasing their skills through steps and rhythm.
The aforementioned activities demonstrate how Filipino students can further enrich and foster the many art forms found in the Philippines. In addition, it promotes inclusivity, teamwork, and an awareness of the art that lies beneath group aspirations.
In a news conference for National Arts Month, Oscar G. Casaysay, executive director of National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), stated that, “It proves once again the ability of the arts to pollinate across communities, thus offering a wide range of bounties.”
Through the consistent support and commitment of DepEd, the artistic talents portrayed by Marinduqueno learners contributed to the unique identity of Filipino culture. — Marinduquenews.com
