BOAC, Marinduque – Boac mayoralty candidate Ninay Festin-Tan overwhelmingly topped in the survey administered by the Samahan ng mga Bagong Kabataang Propagandista (SBKP).
SBKP a comprehensive regional-wide alliance of student and youth leaders committed to the advancement of the youth and students’ democratic rights and welfare conducted a mock election survey in the municipality of Boac, Marinduque from April 22 to May 3, 2019.
This is part of their research entitled “Populism in the Province of Marinduque and Its Implications to Political Maturity”. The study used a quantitative design to identify top five populism practices, the assessment of the effectiveness of these practices in getting support of the youth and student sector and who will they vote in this coming May 13, 2019 midterm and local elections. Research questionnaire was used to gather the needed data.
With the total respondents of 3,459 student and youth voters aged 18-30 years old, Ninay Festin tops the mock election survey who garnered 44.76% followed by outgoing Boac Vice Mayor Robert Opis with 35.15%, Armi Carrion with 31.04%, BJ Solomon with 28.07 %, Dan Marquez and Pedrito Nepomuceno got 25.19% and 20.09% respectively.
