TORRIJOS, Marinduque — Students at Tigwi Elementary School in the town of Torrijos, Marinduque were treated to an unexpected dose of holiday cheer on Monday, January 6, as they received gifts from the Pusong Pinoy Party-list and the Office of Congressman Lord Allan Jay Velasco.
The event, which took place despite the end of the holiday season, aimed to remind everyone, especially children, that the spirit of Christmas should continue throughout the year.
Pusong Pinoy Party-list Marinduque Chairman Emeritus Christopher Laus, emphasized this sentiment, saying, “Sana po ay naging masaya ang mga mag-aaral gayundin ang mga guro sa simpleng regalo na inihandog natin sa kanila.”
A total of 389 students from the school were delighted to receive tumblers, distributed by Baby Sara, the daughter of Congressman Velasco. Baby Sara also offered an inspiring message to the young learners, “Mag-aral kayong mabuti, makinig sa magulang at magdasal palagi.”
In addition to the tumblers, students, parents, and teachers were given merienda packs, with many enjoying ice cream and sandwiches.
Tigwi Elementary School Principal Donna Bella Rocha expressed gratitude, saying, “Pinasaya po nila ang aming mga mag-aaral kaya nawa po ay ipagpatuloy ng Pusong Pinoy Party-list, ni Cong. Velasco at ni Baby Sara ang pagbibigay ng ligaya sa mga bata.”
