BOAC, Marinduque — The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) successfully organized a cybersecurity orientation for the personnel of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR)-Marinduque, highlighting the importance of various technological advancements that are crucial to the government’s shift to an electronic transaction system.
The training, which was attended by a variety of DAR-Marinduque staff members, was led by DICT-Marinduque project development officer Richard Justin Lancion and tackled the use of the Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) for safeguarding sensitive data in digital transactions, preserving its integrity, authenticity, and confidentiality as well as preventing repudiation.
The PNPKI is one of DICT’s essential services, which will increase trust in the government by providing secure and trustworthy online transactions. The usage of the PNPKI will benefit all government web applications, ultimately increasing government service delivery to everyone.
In addition to PNPKI, the resource speaker also discussed cyber hygiene, data privacy and protection, all of which are critical matters to understand as we go toward an increasingly technological society.
This training is just one of the many initiatives carried out by DICT as part of their duty to provide ICT services to the people. They will keep on fostering relationships with the various branches of government to provide greater assistance to its citizens. — Marinduquenews.com
