Department of Health (DOH) – MIMAROPA (Oriental/Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo revealed that a new dormitory for Medical Assistance Indigent Patients (MAIP) will be opened on April which is located beside the regional office at the Quirino Memorial Medical Center Compound in Project 4, Quezon City.
“All MAIP patients of MIMAROPA, especially those without relatives to settled with temporarily in Metro Manila are welcome to stay in the facility while waiting for their scheduled treatment”, Dr. Janairo stated.
“This will be their temporary abode that is why we have placed the essential amenities needed for them to be comfortable and secure. It is not just a dormitory per se, but a home away from home,” he emphasized.

The MAIP Dormitory includes three bedrooms, a receiving area, separate shower rooms for male and female and a spacious kitchen.
Funds for the construction of the MAIP dormitory came from the 2018 Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) Allocation with a total budget of P1,670.314.41. It was started last February 16, 2018.
There are currently four MAIP patients from the province of Palawan and Oriental Mindoro given temporary shelter at the regional office. “Once this facility is completed, we can accommodate more patients from the provinces and they will be provided with free board and lodging and other basic needs including meals and medicines”, Janairo added.
“It is very important that we provide these indigent patients the assistance and morale support they need so that they can feel that they are not neglected and that the government is always prepared to give them what they need,” Janairo concluded. –Marinduquenews.com
