TORRIJOS, Marinduque — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Mimaropa, through its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), partnered with the Department of Agriculture (DA) Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) to conduct an orientation on Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) accreditation. The event took place on February 7, in Brgy. Tigwi, Torrijos, Marinduque.
The orientation was attended by 20 participants from the Farmville Sustainable Livelihood Program Association (SLPA) and Malibago SLPA. The primary goal was to familiarize participants with the LSA accreditation process, qualification criteria, and financial support available upon accreditation. The initiative aims to equip farming and agri-processing communities with the necessary knowledge and resources to enhance their productivity and profitability.
Jayson N. Erondo, Senior Agriculturist and Chief of the Partnership and Accreditation Section (PAS) of ATI, led the orientation. Kimberly P. Marquez, Community Affairs Officer (CAO) and Livelihood Worker from the local government unit of Torrijos, expressed full support in assisting the SLPA in their pursuit of ATI accreditation.
In a related development, the Farmville SLPA marked a milestone with the blessing and opening of their “Integrated Farm Project.” The event was attended by PAS Chief Erondo, ATI Project Evaluation Officer and Supply Officer Manilyn M. Tejada, DSWD-SLP Project Development Officers Arjay A. Historillo and Fatima Concepcion P. Pelaez, and CAO Marquez.
Representatives from DA-ATI provided technical assistance on farm planning and strategic farming approaches to enhance the productivity of the integrated farm.
