MANILA—Retired associate justice Presbitero Velasco won the gubernatorial race in Marinduque.
Velasco got 66,526 votes, while Rey Salvacion received 34,347 votes, based on the complete election returns of clustered precincts, as of 9:22 p.m. Tuesday.
Velasco retired from the Supreme Court last year, after serving for almost 12 years. He was succeeded by Jose Reyes Jr.
His son, Lord Allan Jay Velasco, won the congressional race by a mile.
