BOAC, Marinduque — The Marinduque State University (MarSU) Gender Advancement and Development Focal Point System (GAD GFS) has curated a diverse lineup of programs, projects, and activities in celebration of Women’s Month, running from March 3 to March 26.
The celebration kicks off on March 3 with the Women’s Month Opening Ceremony, featuring “Harana para kay Juana” at the new administration building of the Boac Main Campus. Additionally, MarSU will observe Purple Shirt Wednesdays throughout March across its campuses, including MarSU in Sta. Cruz, Torrijos, Gasan, and Mogpog Extramural Study Center, as a symbol of support for gender equality.
The College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) has also organized GAD Violet Exchange, a series of discussions focusing on Moryonan and Kalutang, scheduled on March 5, 12, 19, and 26 at 9:00 a.m. on MarSU’s official social media platforms. Furthermore, coinciding with the 30th Anniversary of the School of Arts and Sciences, CASS will hold its College Week Celebration from March 5 to 7.
On International Women’s Day (March 8), several activities promoting advocacy and community involvement are set to take place including a) Waves of Changes: GAD Coastal Clean-up** at Ulong Bay, b) GAD Grows: Planting Seeds of Equality at MarSU Extramural Campus, and c) Hope Beyond Bars at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Boac.
Continuing the month-long celebration, the GAD GFPS has planned additional impactful events, such as:
March 18: GADtoKnow, the second episode of the GAD2MeetU program at the Lounge, New Administration Building.
March 17-21: GAD Cares – Relax Today, Empower Tomorrow, to be held at the Old OP Conference Room and MarSU Canopy.
March 21: GAD Forum: Your Space, Your Rights: Understanding the Safe Spaces Act at the MarSU Canopy. The same venue will also host Juana Know & Empower: Free Legal Consultation and Lakas Mo, Kaligtasan Mo: Self-Defense Training.
The celebration will conclude on March 26 with a series of culminating activities, including: a) Juana Walk: Walk in Purple, Stride for Change, b) I-GAD Motto! Words that Win: Slogan Showdown, and c) Launching of the GAD and Wellness Project – MarS,U’re Fit and Fab: Shaping a Healthier MarSU Community.
These final events will commence at 5:00 a.m at the MarSU Boac Campus, proceeding towards the Tanza-Bantad Diversion Road.
